Dark, deep red-purple; the bouquet is as concentrated and rich as one would expect, with a mix of blackberry and blackcurrant fruit; ample but not excessive oak. The palate is immensely powerful and concentrated, precisely as one would expect from Riddoch in a vintage such as ’96, with a full panoply of dark, black fruit flavours, tannin and oak.
