The 2009 Dolcetto d’Alba Munfrina is a beautiful bottle of wine. This is Pelissero’s more traditional Dolcetto. The marriage of firm, tense structure and the warmth of the vintage make for a wonderfully complete, harmonious wine. Varietal dark fruit, tobacco, new leather and licorice linger on the firm, nuanced finish. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2014.
Pelissero is one of my favorite producers in Barbaresco. Year in, year out proprietor Giorgio Pelissero does a fabulous job with all of his wines, from top to bottom.

Broad and supple, offering black cherry and spice notes backed up by firm tannins. Just a touch dry on the finish. Drink now through 2013.
