Established in 1979, Paxton is a family owned McLaren Vale wine company. Founder and owner, David Paxton is one of Australia’s most highly respected viticulturalists – a reputation built on managing and growing wine grapes of exceptional quality for over 35 years. In 2004, David made the decision to convert the estate to organic and biodynamic farming principles. When vines live in truly healthy, chemical free soils, in ecologically sound environments, they will produce the best quality and tasting grapes, hence the best wines.

Paxton’s flagship wine, a single-vineyard made from the low yielding, 100+ year old Shiraz vines are amongst the oldest in McLaren Vale; matured 18 months in French oak; vanilla and black currant aromas with an elegant note of spicy oak and plum; soft and elegant with an intense concentration of red berry fruits, delicately integrated oak blends in beautifully with the natural tannin; a great vintage.
