Tasting Notes

Raspberries and red fruit, straightforward/correct in the mouth, powerful, slightly linear, gentlysweet, smooth/velvety, fine fruit in the finish, lovely persistence. From a particularly warm month of July, a hearty and rich wine ; one for ageing.

Dark garnet with a loamy soil nose intermixed with leather, graphite, and some tobacco leaf as well as black currants, this wine is spicy, medium-bodied, but finishes with some austere and slightly astringent tannins. Give it several years of bottle age and drink it over the following 10-15 years.

.

There’s some berry and mineral character, with a steely note. Medium-bodied, with chewy, slightly austere tannins and a hollow midpalate. Bottle age will fill the hole a bit. Best from 2011 through 2015.
