Tasting Notes
The 1997 Grand-Puy-Ducasse is dark ruby-colored, with a sweet black fruit-scented nose intermixed with weedy scents, vanilla, and earth. The mid-palate is plump and round, but the wine displays an abrupt finish with a certain austerity and angularity. This offering requires more flesh and concentration to merit a higher score. Anticipated maturity: now-2010.(Wine Advocate #128 Apr 2000)
