Tasting Notes
A very strong effort for Boyd-Cantenac, a harvest which dragged on until October 15 produced wines that are dense, ruby/purple, with a sweet nose of weedy black currants, earth, mineral, and a hint of licorice. The wine is medium-bodied, very concentrated and chewy, with high levels of tannin. This is certainly a classic vin de garde which will require patience from its buyers. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020. Last tasted, 3/01.(Bordeaux Book, 4th Edition Jan 2003)
