Tasting Notes

Colour : Deep purple with a dense, black centre.

Nose : Unmistakable Barossa Shiraz hallmarks of liquorice, anise, tar and ripe dark summer berries are set against cedary French oak. Impressive
power of sweet fruits and spices.

Palate : The palate is built around a core of plush ripe fruits and a background of well-integrated classy French oak. Menthol and dark chocolate notes
rise as the wine sits in the glass, with tight, grainy tannins and excellent length.

The elegantly-styled, restrained 1999 Shiraz RWT is an elegant example
of a Barossa Shiraz. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by a
medium-bodied wine offering up floral, raspberry, cherry, and currant
aromas nicely dosed with subtle wood. Enjoy this pure, refreshing 1999
over the next decade.

Exotically musky, wild and heady aromas of brambly ripe berry fruits of
piecing intensity with fine, tight-knit smoked oyster, clove and cedar
oak influences. Wonderfully rich, elegant and perfectly ripened palate
of pristine dark berry and plum flavours, creamy, smoky French oak and
powder-dry tannins. Better than the 1997 Grange. Drink 2011-2019.

Medium to full red-purple; abundant ripe, sweet, dark berry fruit is
married with French oak on the bouquet; the palate has excellent
mouthfeel and structure with fine-grained but persistent tannins adding
to the length of the wine. A particularly good outcome for the vintage.

Lithe and appealing for its range of flavors, this fascinating wine has
dark plum and berry at the core and mint, leather, peach-fuzz and exotic
spice notes sneaking in around the edges. Texture is firm but not
overly so. It all adds up to an aristocratic red, as the flavors sail on
and on. 3,500 cases made.
