This 1996 exhibits a dark ruby color, and a stern, unevolved, backward personality with hard tannin in the finish. Nevertheless, there is fine ripeness, good purity, and a medium-bodied, traditional style. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2014.(Wine Advocate #122 Apr 1999)
