Tasting Notes
The 2006 Barbaresco Nubiola is a gorgeous, impeccably balanced wine. Sweet roses, dried cherries, spices and herbs are woven into a rich, textured fabric that caresses the palate with notable elegance and class. Deceptively medium in body, the Nubiola reveals gorgeous inner perfume and a long, refined finish. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2021.
Giorgio Pelissero is a young, passionate producer based in Treiso. As outstanding as the Barbarescos can be, I find just as much pleasure in his Dolcettos and Barberas, which are among the finest in the region. From top to bottom, this is a first-class set of wines.
