Tasting Notes

The 2007 Chianti Classico is a soft, fragrant Chianti bursting with ripe fruit, licorice and flowers. This vinous, generous Chianti is best enjoyed on the young side. It is a wonderful effort at this level. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012.

This is another set of delicious wines from Monsanto. Unfortunately the estate did not produce its flagship Il Poggio in 2005, but the strength of the Chianti Classico Riserva in 2006 bodes very well for that vintage’s Il Poggio.
