Tasting Notes
Straightforward, with berry and mineral notes and crisp, citrusy acidity. Medium-bodied. Drink now.

The 2008 Chianti Monrosso is an entry-level wine made from estate owned vineyards in Chianti rather than Chianti Classico. The Monrosso is a straightforward, simple red with attractive fruit, floral aromatics and lovely balance, particularly at this level. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2012.
Monsanto is a reference-point producer for fine Chianti. The estate’s top bottlings have a brilliant track record, but these entry-level wines deliver almost as much pleasure at much more accessible prices.
