Tasting Notes
Light green-straw; the power of 40-year-old vines, and the cold and windswept site, invest the wine with intensity and purity, although it often needs some years in bottle to express its quality; the palate has a rare depth and richness of flavour, and its natural acidity will sustain it for a decade or more.

From a warmer vintage, this chalky and rather citrusy riesling lacks its usual freshness and perfume, tightness and focus. Quite floral, with slightly candied citrus undertones, it’s initially round and juicy presence of apple, peach and pear-like fruit overlies a rather phenolic texture, before finishing slightly attenuated with lemon-like flavour.
