Tasting Notes

Vintage 2009 was cool and on normal timing albeit with an early heat wave pre-veraison. Chardonnay grapes were handpicked on the 11th March 2009 from our V&A vineyard at 12 baume and whole bunch pressed to new and used Mercurey French Oak.

Fermented with AWRI 1375 yeast and remaining on all yeast and grape lees for 11 months, the wine was bottled in March 2010.

Pale straw colour, with complex white peach, citrus and yeasty notes on the nose, the palate shows lovely balance and cooler vintage fresh flavours on the palate.
