Tasting Notes
The 2008 crop was harvested prior to the hotter conditions experienced in March producing a chardonnay with lovely soft peach and pear fruit flavours and interesting complexity. Made entirely from fruit from our V&A Lane vineyard, these grapes were handpicked and fermented in new and used Mercurey barriques using pure bayanus strains of yeast, followed by 11 months of maturation on yeast lees. Pale straw in colour, the nose shows complex white peach and tropical aromas combined with toasty burgundian oak. The palate is rich with fresh citrus fruit and complex yeasty notes and a soft melon fruit finish. Bottled in February 2009. – by Offical Website

Picked before the March heatwave; an elegant and fresh wine with nectarine, grapefruit and white peach fruit, the French oak playing second fiddle; immaculate balance and length. – by James Halliday
