Tasting Notes
Colour : Deep, dark red.
Nose : Upon opening, aromas of cold meats and freshly baked panaforte interweave with a pure-fruited expression of Shiraz, unadorned by any discernable traces of oak. With breathing, glacier fruit, spice and savoury nuances ascend.
Palate : A textbook St Henri with ripened raspberry and nectarine fruits coupled with finely textured grainy tannins that roll off the tongue. Masses of fruit flavours peak on the mid to back palate with depth, concentration and softness.

The deep dark ruby/purple-colored 1999 Shiraz St. Henri possesses clean
black currant, cherry, and earth-like notes with a hint of pepper in the
background. Medium-bodied, slightly compact, but tasty.

Supple, elegant shiraz with a spicy floral perfume of cassis,
blackberries and raspberries with peppery undertones of treacle and
caramel, star anise and restrained cedary oak. Its long and satiny
palate presents pristine, vibrant fruit over a fine-grained chassis,
finishing smooth and gentle with delightful intensity. Drink : 2011-2019

Bramble, briar and spice aromas; then a palate with bitter chocolate,
licorice and blackberry joining the background components of the
bouquet; very well handled tannins; Penfolds is on top of this aspect of
the game.

Crisp and firm, this has more acidity than 1996 or 1998, but there’s
excellent length and focus, with a razor-edge balance that lifts the
cherry and earth flavors and lets them roll.–St. Henri non-blind
vertical. 17,000 cases made.
