*Montepulciano is located southeast of Siena and home to Italy’s first DOCG. Prugnolo Gentile(gentle wild plum) is the name for Sangiovese planted in this region for making the Vine Noble (noble wine).
Founded in 1913 by Marchese Giuseppe Fassati, Fassati’s two principle parcels, named Gracciano and Caggioie, were evaluated by a recent government study as the best suited for the production of Vino Noble di Montepulciano.
